hangAIR Global - Multi-Sensor Wearable AI Platform
hangAir Global is focused on advancing modern wellbeing and approached us with a vision to scientifically improve sleep quality. The company’s mission was to move beyond traditional conversational relaxation methods and instead leverage scientifically validated techniques to create meaningful, measurable improvements in sleep. Their innovation was supported by Innovate UK, where the solution was recognized as one of the most innovative products of 2024.

Challenge
hangAIR needed to build a connected health platform from scratch: a wearable device capturing multiple biometric signals, an AI engine that personalizes wellness interventions based on each user's physiology, and a consumer application that drives daily engagement. No existing architecture, no legacy system — a greenfield build that needed to work in production with real users.
Signal Types: ECG, PPG, temperature, accelerometer, gyroscope - five simultaneous sensor streams from different wearable devices. The core challenge: fusing noisy, variable signals from different sensor modalities into a unified physiological profile, in real time, on a battery-constrained device.
What We Built: End-to-End Wearable AI Platform
Our founder, Nikola Zivkovic, served as fractional CTO, leading the technical architecture and development of the entire platform.
1. Wearable Sensor Integration Multi-channel biometric capture from the hangAIR device: ECG, PPG, temperature, accelerometer, and gyroscope. Bluetooth data transmission, on-device signal conditioning, and continuous monitoring during sleep and daily activity with minimal battery impact.
2. Multi-Sensor AI Processing Signal fusion engine that combines five sensor streams into a unified physiological profile. Edge processing handles real-time biometric state assessment. Cloud AI runs deeper longitudinal analysis across sessions, identifying patterns in sleep quality, stress response, and recovery.
3. Adaptive Recommendation Engine Machine learning engine that continuously learns from each user's biometric patterns. The system tailors wellness and sleep enhancement strategies to individual physiological profiles — improving with every session. Interventions are matched to each user's current biometric state, not generic content.
4. Platform Integration (Orca System) Seamless bidirectional data flow between the wearable hardware, mobile application, and cloud analytics platform. The result: a unified, scalable health monitoring experience integrated with hangAIR's broader product ecosystem.
