The client aimed to revolutionize the way athletes recover from injuries by combining cutting-edge AI algorithms with digital health solutions. Their target audience included professional athletes, sports rehabilitation clinics, and healthcare providers seeking faster, more accurate recovery pathways.
Challenges
Oro Muscles needed to turn noisy, variable muscle electrical signals from their wearable EMG sensors into recovery insights that coaches and rehabilitation professionals could trust and act on immediately. Their existing system had no real-time feedback, fragmented data across platforms, and no objective measurement of muscle recovery progress.
Signal Type: Electromyography (EMG) — one of the most challenging biosignals to process reliably due to noise, movement artifacts, and the need for real-time responsiveness.
What We Built: The Signal-to-Insight Pipeline
1. EMG Signal Capture Multi-channel EMG acquisition from wearable sensors with configurable sampling rates optimized for target muscle groups.
2. Edge and Cloud AI Processing Custom EMG analysis model with adaptive noise filtering, movement artifact rejection, and feature extraction. AI identifies patterns in muscle activation, fatigue levels, and recovery trajectories. Edge processing for real-time feedback, cloud processing for longitudinal analysis.
3. Real-Time Insight Distribution Processed insights pushed simultaneously to iOS app and web platform. Athletes see muscle activation in real time. Coaches receive automated recovery assessments, progress tracking, and flagged anomalies.
4. Central Resource Hub Unified data platform for all recovery data, treatment recommendations, and educational content. Single source of truth across athletes, coaches, and medical staff.
Beyond the pipeline, we rebuilt the iOS application for clinical usability, optimized the web platform for healthcare professional workflows, and created the Central Resource Hub from scratch.
